I chose this painting because the way the dark clouds are gathered over the harbour and the way the dark and light colours contrast is very appealing to my eye. It looks as though something evil is about to pounce upon the people in the field or perhaps, some horrible storm will come and attempt to destroy the town with wind and waves. It's a bit melancholy and there is some sort of symbolism portrayed in this painting.
